The Best Ways To Overcome Feeling Like A Failure

The walls around you start to move inward. Your blood is pumping, your inner voice insists on chasing after you.

Escaping this noise is The Best Ways To Overcome Feeling Like A Failure

no easy task all the while it screeches you suck, you’re worthless and you’re a complete failure.

You panic and let out a cry why me, how do I make it stop? You gaze across the room and see your computer turned on with the headline:

The best ways to overcome feeling like a failure.

You immediately calm down and move towards it, sitting down you begin reading.

This article will show you exactly what you should do to stop that voice in its track before it drives you any crazier.

Part of achieving big things is setting up expectations that are enormous. When you fall short, which often will be the case, you get that feeling inside of being worthless.

In order for you to achieve the results that are realistic, sometimes its best to aim very high but plan to miss it by a few so that you achieve lower ones.

Remember you are choosing to do this because you know you will hit that smaller goal, readjust your focus and aim high once again.

That means you know ahead of time that you will not achieve it all in one step. This is why you still want to aim very high but keep your mind on the obtainable goals.image saying "Where did that feeling like a failure come from?"

And when that voice shows up and tells you that you suck, you will be able to knock it out.

Practice doing things in small steps a few at a time.  When you start to prove that you can accomplish these small victories, your inner voice will have nothing left to taunt you with.

You will likely change that voice a little each time, it will still be there, but losing volume the more you achieve. I know this because I have killed that voice in my head.

It wasn’t that difficult and it had to be done so I could start to live a life full of joy. It didn’t want to go away and I was forced to trap it. That feeling when I made that little piggy squeal was a relief, and I was finally able to relax.image saying "accept it, allow it, and acknowledge it's time to change it"

You see the fact is, there is a source of that noise.

The crazy part about this is finding out who created it. Where did you get the idea that you couldn’t achieve, where did you find out that you weren’t perfect?

By identifying whose voice it was, I knew where to find it hiding. After that, it’s just a matter of finding the reason it was there.

You can trace everything about your inner voice back to the people who taught you things both on purpose and by accident.

It’s when you are ready to start searching that it will become possible. Don’t just think you can find somebody capable of doing it for you because there is just one person. That person is you.image saying "Remember when you have felt like a failure before."

Do Not start pointing the finger at everyone you have ever known, that will just encourage the noise to grow stronger.

You have to accept that it’s there, you have to accept that you allowed it there, and you have to acknowledge that it’s time to change things from within.

Many people get stuck in thinking that the voice is their own brain and that they deserve to be exactly what it’s telling them. This is pointless because that voice could be a manifestation of anyone at any time.

How do you go about finding where it started? Obviously, you need to remember when you have felt like a failure before.

The Best Ways To Overcome Feeling Like A Failure

A while back I wrote a post about the top 10 fears people experience with shyness. In that article, I point out that you are susceptible to the beliefs of others.

They start telling you what can happen when you go out and try a certain action. Or you get told that this experience happened to them while they were the same age.

These stories may only be meant to warn you, the problem is that your mind doesn’t know the difference between a warning or an actual experience.

It just assumes that this has happened to you and things didn’t go well. This means that you can learn these fears from anything that happens in your presence.

Could be a parent, a sibling, a friend, a television show, a movie, and so on. But because that idea has been registered into your mind means you will already feel like it happened to you.

Over time you are likely to forget that you had picked this up and when you are trying to do something your subconscious mind is there to tell you to wait a minute.

Remember this time and what ended up happening? Yeah, I am gonna keep showing you this and telling you about it until you stop what you are doing and listen to me.

Before you know it, you start to believe that you had already failed. This becomes a pattern where your mind says wait a minute, remember this one as well.image saying "warnings create problems since our minds can't tell the difference"

Every experience that happened starts to come up in your mind, and it’s only a matter of time before you stop trying to do things and assume you are a complete failure.

Go back and read that top ten fear post, it will give you the idea of how to stop that voice. All you do is take it one fear at a time and do the opposite of what your mind is telling you is the problem.

Here are a few more ways to overcome a feeling of failure

Laziness is another one of the tricks your mind gets pretty good at picking up. Why do something hard or new when you can sit back and take it easy.

After all, you will only fail if you do try something, right? Your mind understands that it takes a lot of energy to read something or learn something new.

As you try to read more and more, you tend to become tired easier. After this has become a pattern you will start to hear that voice in your mind suggesting that you take a break.

Do something easy, play a video game or watch a television show. This allows your mind to keep you safe and it gets to sit back and rest.

Even when you know that it’s your priority to get the book read, your mind will continue to get you to stop. But for this to happen you had to learn what was easy and what wasn’t fun, right?

There is a bad influence on you who would be just like this voice and tell you it’s okay to take a break. Because you are dealing with the subconscious mind, it doesn’t know that wasn’t you who suggested it.

Your mind has learned that you prefer to do the easiest things rather than spend the energy that helps you to learn. For this problem you don’t need to know the source, you just need to refocus your mind.

This is when you start to do things consistently, which means you set a start and stop time to achieve it. Once a month goes by your mind has gotten the hint that you want to be doing that instead of being lazy.

The longer you maintain a schedule, and practice things, the better you will become at doing them. This will eventually prove that you are not a failure and the results you obtain will even build up your confidence.image saying "your mind learns to be fearful from everything that happens"

When can you interact with your subconscious mind?

Believe it or not, you can actually interact with it throughout the day if you know what kind of actions to do. Since it picks up everything that happens to you it needs to see, hear, taste, touch, and smell to be present.

This means that using your senses will help you make a connection to it. For example, I am typing this post. My subconscious mind is aware of what I am doing right now.

Every word I type it sees, every time I use one of the keys from the keyboard it knows which one is used and by which finger.

That should hopefully indicate to you that you can easily communicate with your mind when you are writing. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to get your mind trained.

You can also do most creative things and become fully aware of everything you do in the present moment. What you need to do is make sure you aren’t daydreaming.image saying "your subconscious mind will say wait a minute"

Sometimes while I read or even when I type there is a brief moment that goes by and I am not sure of what I just did. This is probably the same for you.

This is why you will always be encouraged to journal, read articles or books, and listen to my favorite suggestion which is starting a blog.

Because the more in-depth you become, the more you’re subconscious mind will be retrained. And this ends up being something that will completely free you from feeling like you fail.

Eliminate any feeling of failure with creativity

Perhaps, you don’t want to have an audience, you could just do things for your own benefit. Over and over again you will notice you are making positive changes.

This was actually unexpected when I started out, I had seen an ad for some internet marketing where you create pages and just promote products.

I took a chance and looked into it and became aware of the community I am a member of now. This lead me to start a website about video games which quickly got boring.image saying "believing that you already failed even when you haven't"

It was not something that I found fun, playing games are fun but not the writing about them. After that site was up and running I decided to figure out what having a passion meant.

This leads me to ask a ton of questions and eventually, I decided on doing this website. Why? Like I said a passion of mine is to learn how to overcome the fears, anxieties, doubts, and other junk that was littered all over my mind.

By experiencing so many different positives I started to really feel better at attempting everything. So I write what I know and how I feel, with the hope that it helps somebody else.

Any fear of failure I once had has started disappearing and the only thing I changed was what I did as far as what I was writing about. The Best Ways To Overcome Feeling Like A Failure

There is a cycle or system to this

Everything you want becomes possible when you start to work on those very things. This website helps me get the words out and gives me a reason to do the research.

If I hadn’t started doing this I would have remained the way I was, and that was a scared, shy, and awkward guy with dreams but no actions.

One by one I work on each question I have had, which also solves a problem for me. Over the duration, I get to each and every obstacle that has ever stood in my way.

That is also why the site is named what it is.image saying "a schedule will help you practice and prove you are not a failure"

The better I get at this, the better I get at everything and the cycle repeats indefinitely until I either run out of questions myself, or I decide to stop and move on to something else.

After all, this is a way to retrain my mind that once sabotaged everything I did by telling me I was a worthless failure incapable of doing anything.

When something close to that noise comes up, I know it’s a joke and that every post I write is proof of that. My writing continues to get better, I continue to grow as a person, and I can help people who really need that help.

Win-win-win and that is a really great feeling to have.

Fear of failing isn’t a real thing and I can prove it

You create that voice that says it’s a real thing. This means that without your effort to create it, there isn’t a real fear. You can prove this yourself by gaining more skills and by challenging what your mind is saying.

I really like the focus I gained when I started meditation, that was just something I was curious about so figured what the hell. With an open mind, there are a lot of things I am willing to try now.

Over the course of a month, I was able to triple the amount of writing I could do. This gave me so much more motivation to keep doing it and to try even more things which are similar.

The best way to remove any fear is to first stop the excessive noise in your mind. To do that you have to focus on things that are important, and to believe very highly in yourself.

Even if you don’t do anything else, repeat these words until you start to want to do more. I believe in myself no matter what!image saying "in-depth practice will retrain your subconscious mind"

It may sound ridiculous that one phrase will change you so much. But really start with it and then look at any questions you have about yourself.

Think of it this way, believing in yourself no matter what will be the very proof you need to understand that a fear of failing isn’t even possible. Why?

Because you know you will not fail, you may need to retry a few times before you get things figured out, but you will not stop. You will not quit because you already believe you can do anything.

Once you included a schedule, about when and where each action is going to take place. You can set yourself up to succeed no matter what you do.

Small easy to achieve steps that increase your confidence, self-esteem, and help you to truly love yourself.

Let’s recap what you learned about overcoming a feeling of failing

Get your mind to listen to you instead of you listening to it. After that is accomplished you will begin to notice that a once negative inner voice has started to change to a more positive one.

When you know how to interact with your subconscious mind, you understand why it’s a wonderful thing to journal, start a blog, continue reading, and to ask all the questions you can.

You will grow as a person and develop these amazing skills that will motivate you to keep doing even more things. This motivation will prove that you are very capable of anything.image saying "the more practice you get, the better your mind works"

Once you understand yourself, it’s just a matter of time until your confidence and self-esteem have increased to astounding levels.

This alone is more than enough reason to keep going. You will become a completely inspirational being and can start to share this power with the world.

Believing in yourself no matter what is the most wonderful feeling you can have, it’s because of that feeling you know any fear of failing is now a pointless belief you once held.

These are the best ways to overcome feeling like a failure and to learn to love and believe you are definitely capable of succeeding.

  1. I have absolutely been where you’re at. The way things can quickly change once a major part of your life is no longer around. It actually happens to a lot of people who try to fight things in quiet and even pretend that everything is still going along as it were.

Just because you understand the problem, doesn’t mean it’s meant to be solved. Sounds to me like you had always been the daughter who did this or was great at that. When your mother passed you lost a big chunk of who you knew yourself to be.

Things just don’t seem to make sense and everything is like who cares and why bother. You will have to figure out exactly who you want to be before you can get to a place that gets some normal meaning again.

Certainly, go and get some therapy, it’s never a bad idea. A mistake that everyone makes is they think therapy means “crazy” when it can really shine a bright light on things that will turn your life around.

I quit doing something that had this same effect on me when it’s gone you feel lost and misunderstood and have to get to know yourself from the start all over again.

I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and I hope you will find the way to get to know who you are again. I know a website which may help you: https://www.griefandsympathy.com/losingaparent.html

  2. Hi Eric,
Your article is so true, As I read the more I see myself, I have never been a lazy person all I have ever known is hard work and prided myself on doing the best at what I had learned. However since I lost my mother and thing’s went so badly in the family after her death for some reason I have felt alone and like nothing was right in my life. I was always an active person and now I can’t seem to even get out of my house, every time I go to walk out my front door just can’t seem to get past the front porch, my son and daughter in law are always on me they don’t understand either.
I tell myself often today is the day, but then I feel tired, can always come up with some excuse to not go see that friend I haven seen in forever, or know my husband will go to the store to get what we need.
I get in the computer and start to work on my site and get discouraged because I am not social and I know from what I have learned you have to be social to get people to my site. So I go and lay back down, it’s not that I don’t like to talk to people just don’t seem to know how any more.
The feeling of inadequate just over takes and I give up what I am doing.
You see I know my problem just don’t know how to turn it around, maybe I do need professional help.
    What do you think?
Thank you for the article give me a lot to think about. VickiG
